In the realm of the JNIC Fantasy Football League, where the Spartans, Trojans, and Athenians clash under the ever-watchful gaze of the fantasy gods, there arises a trial unlike any other: the Guillotine Tournament. Not a war of glory for all, but a brutal contest of survival, where each passing week brings doom to the weakest among them.

The Rules of the Guillotine Tournament

  • For the first eleven weeks of the season, the warriors gather upon the field of numbers, their lineups armed and their banners flying.

  • But lo! Unlike the grand campaign of the regular season, here there is no forgiveness. For when the week concludes, and the scrolls of scoring are unrolled, the warrior who has tallied the fewest points shall be seized by fate.

  • His name is called before the assembly, his head placed upon the block, and the blade of the guillotine falls. Thus he is cast out of the Tournament.

  • And though he walks still among the living — his team endures in the great season of the league — his blood stains the stones of the Guillotine path, and his chance for eternal glory is ended.

The March Toward One Champion

  • One by one, week after week, the ranks are thinned. The Spartans who boasted of strength, the Trojans who walked the path of balance, the Athenians who dared to defy the fates — all must face the possibility of the blade.

  • There is no hiding, no defense, no “lucky matchup.” Only the scoreboard decides.

  • And when the eleventh week ends, and eleven heads have fallen, one lone champion remains — the survivor of the gauntlet, the favored of the gods, the master of fate and fortune.

The Reward

  • To the victor go 50 golden shackles — coins stamped by the hand of the commissioner, symbolizing triumph over despair.

  • To the fallen? They return to the battlefield of the regular season, their war in the Guillotine over, but their fight for playoff glory still alive.

Thus the Guillotine Tournament stands apart from the grand war of the league. It is a trial of endurance, a gauntlet of despair, a testament to who among the twelve can not only conquer but survive. For in this contest, there are no ties, no laurels for second place. There is only the blade… and the survivor who walks away with gold in his hands and his name etched forever into the annals of JNIC lore.
